Born in Miami, Florida, Corinne grew up in a tri-lingual household that prioritized language learning. She studied French, English, and Spanish through her master's program. After living in France to teach and splitting her time between France and the US for many years, she settled in New York City in 2018 where she worked for The French Alliance of New York City and local French language institutions. Corinne and her family moved to Richmond, VA in 2023 where she grew her business, Franglais RVA. Every day she enjoys learning more about her students through her work. Corinne has taught children as young as 2 years old through adulthood and has extensive experience online and in the brick-and-mortar classroom. Her methods are based in research on the flipped classroom and distance learning models through an immersive environment. She is also a yoga instructor with over 700 hours of training.

Chloé, a native of the North-East of France, has had a passion for languages since a young age. After completing high school, she traveled the world to pursue a career in contemporary dance, all while earning a Bachelor's degree in English with a minor in French. Upon returning to France, she earned a University Diploma in Teaching French as a Foreign Language from Université Grenoble-Alpes, beginning her teaching career in middle school and high school. Two years later, she graduated with a Master’s degree in English Literature and Linguistics from Université Sorbonne-Nouvelle and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in American Literature. With experience teaching learners of diverse ages and backgrounds both in France and the United States, Chloé aims to create a supportive environment where learners feel empowered to achieve their linguistic goals while sharing the excitement that is learning a new language and immersing oneself into a new culture. She enjoys integrating literature, music, and the arts into her lessons, and she never misses an opportunity to introduce students to the rich world of idioms and cultural nuances that make a language come to life.

Virginia hails from Staunton, Virginia where her introduction to French came by way of classical ballet at the age of three. Since then, she continued exploring her love of the language through a BS in French and Marine Biology at Eckerd College and a MA in French at the University of Virginia. While at Eckerd, she served as a French tutor and spent time in Montpellier with a host family. Then at UVa, she had the opportunity to teach undergraduate students. Her academic research and interests focus on the Ancien Régime and the beginnings of ballet and dance notation. After completing her masters, Virginia moved to France and spent two years teaching English first at the Université Le Mans and then the Université Jean Monnet in Saint-Étienne. She has now moved back home to Virginia to be closer to friends and family, but frequently returns to the Normandy region to help her father give tours of the D-Day beaches as translator (and Camembert taste-tester). She is ecstatic to now be teaching with Franglais and to continue to share her love of French!

Aurelie, a French native speaker from the South of France, has always been passionate about training and empowering people. After graduating with a degree in Medical Engineering from Montpellier University, the world's oldest medical college and one of the most renowned in France, Aurelie spent 15 years working in the Pharmaceutical Industry. Her willingness to ensure rigorous operations, her leadership and her commitment to support her colleagues led her to endorse management responsibilities very early in her career. Naturally driven by a kind and patient nature, this mother of 3 boys has recently relocated to the US with her family and is now fully committed to teaching French lessons and share her deep passion for her country and all of its cultural aspects. Ask her anything about food, wine, geography, celebrations, and idiomatic expressions!

Megan. French for Kids

The love of French language and Francophone culture for Kyleen started when she was an exchange student for one year in Malmèdy, Belgium. She earned her Bachelor’s in French and Secondary Education at SUNY Oneonta and her Master’s in French language, literature, and civilization at Syracuse University in New York. She loves meeting new people from all walks of life, which has allowed her to use her French outside the classroom. Her husband has extended family in Liège, Belgium, with whom they keep close contact. Kyleen has been teaching French since 2003, starting in New York State. In 2007, she moved to the Richmond area with her husband. She currently teaches beginner French courses for VCU. Another passion of Kyleen’s is baking. In 2022, she founded Fire and Flour LLC and bakes under cottage law for people in Richmond, Mechanicsville, and New Kent. She bakes naturally-leavened breads and bagels, pastries, flatbreads, galettes, and more! Learning French and baking go great together, oui!?
